A mini chandelier earring that pays homage to "octopus bags" or "fire bags." These "bags of many legs" were originally called "fire bags" because they were used to carry flint, tobacco, and/or ammunition. In the mid 1800's, these bags were made by Métis people across the Northern plains, the Yukon, and along the Columbia River. It is thought that the name "octopus bag" was given by the Tlingit Nation when the bags were introduced by Métis traders to the Northwest coast. The bags have widespread creation origins, with Anishinaabe, Cree and Métis women of the Red River Valley in Manitoba creating prototypes for the modern octopus bags as early as 1820.

An adaptation of the Octopus Bag style, each earring features 6 beaded appendages, or "tassles," that give decoration and add movement. Each beaded gourd pin is composed of vintage Venetian glass beads, procured by Warren, during a trip to Venice in the fall of 2025. These beaded pins create a fringe motif, further linking to the aesthetics of the "octopus bag," which were often decorated with wool or beaded tassels.
