From a squarish, box-like ovoid hang three "tentacles." Each tentacle is divided into three connected segments, creating added movement in the earring. This enhanced movement relates to the surprising speed of the box jelly, which are very fast swimmers compared to other species of jellies, with speeds of 1.5 - 2 meters per second being recorded!
The segments of the "tentacles" give mobility. When one turns or tilts their head, the long segments bend and move when they come in contact with the body.
